Creative Director

Seven Letter Labs is looking for a creative director who can conceive and develop persuasive campaigns that convey tested messages, as well as serve as the primary creative editor of all materials for Seven Letter clients and the firm itself.

Our creative director must have both digital and traditional design experience, as well as be able to interpret business requirements and client design needs and translate them into elegant, creative solutions. They will be responsible for generating initial concepts as well as guiding a team of internal and external designers to execute. Often working on multiple projects with tight deadlines, the creative director will work with multiple teams and projects both inside and outside the firm. The creative director must be exceptional at pitching and communicating ideas as well as creating concepts for other team members. Responsibilities

  • Distill abstract business concepts and client needs into refined, elegant creative solutions.
  • Review and provide guidance and feedback for designers who report to them.
  • Pitch ideas confidently and present their creative vision clearly to clients verbally and in writing.
  • Lead and inspire the creative team.
  • Ensure that all of the organization’s or client’s creative output/visuals are consistent with the overall brand.
  • Lead multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas.
  • Operate in many roles: Creative leader, general manager, strategist, operations lead, and innovator.
  • Encourage team to stay ahead of the curve and develop creative talent and leaders.

Requirements

  • A fine arts degree (preferred) or an undergraduate degree in graphic design, visual communication, typography, or a related subject, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of creative direction experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience creatively directing complex solutions for digital and traditional products.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and determine a creative vision that matches client briefs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively communicate the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions to stakeholders, internal teams, and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
  • A solid grasp of the current creative tools and trends.
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
