Politico Expands “Playbooks” to IL and MA, Adds Top Chicago Politics Reporter


Starting in late September, POLITICO will be adding Illinois to their growing list of state Playbook franchises. POLITICO has hired Chicago Sun Times reporter Natasha Korecki to be a Chicago-based senior political reporter and write their new daily politics “tipsheet.” This move comes as POLITICO is expanding its local coverage, including the recent launch of its “Massachusetts Playbook” covering “Beacon Hill and beyond” in Massachusetts. Korecki, one of Chicago’s top political reporters, spent a dozen years at the Sun Times. POLITICO states editor Josh Benson said of the hire: “We’re just delighted to be getting the chance to work with Natasha. She’s a great reporter and is very obviously going to be a tremendous colleague.”
