Veteran political reporter Steve Kornacki and host of MSNBC’s weekend morning show “Up,” which he has anchored for the past two and a half years, is heading to MSNBC weekdays. He will take the anchor chair for Chuck Todd’s “MTP Daily” on Mondays and is expected to take on a larger political analyst role at MSNBC leading up to the 2016 election. Kornacki was previously a senior political writer at Salon.com and his work has appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Daily Beast. Alex Wagner, who until this summer hosted her own show on MSNBC weekdays, is heading to Saturdays with a new show to replace Kornacki’s “Up.” These moves are all part of a series of changes to the MSNBC lineup, with more expected soon.
