With over a decade of experience in the public and private sectors, Cayenne Isaksen applies her background in public affairs to develop and execute integrated communications strategies for clients across multiple sectors. Cayenne specializes in media relations and crisis communications services, including messaging, media outreach, social media management, reputation management, public affairs briefings, and media training.
Leveraging her experience in the public sector, Cayenne develops strategic communications plans, specializing in the intersection of government, media and community relations. Cayenne has helped clients successfully navigate complex and high-profile communications challenges, ensuring that their business goals were protected while elevating their reputation in the media and the public and executed campaigns resulting in significant policy changes.
Previously, Cayenne was a part of O’Neill and Associates, which merged with Seven Letter in 2020.
Prior to her work with O’Neill and Associates, Cayenne served as the Director of Public Affairs for the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, where she served as the primary spokesperson for the agency while providing guidance and counsel in the development of the department’s communications strategies. She proactively promoted the agency’s positive and successful work, while effectively managing its crisis communications when responding to high profile, public cases and changes in department leadership.
Cayenne also served as the Media and Public Affairs Specialist for the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services. In this role, she served as spokesperson and managed all media and communications-based activities while assisting the Executive Office of Health and Human Services and Governor’s Office on veterans’ issues. She developed digital and social media skills at the department, establishing the agency’s first entry into social networking.
She holds a master’s in Political Science and a master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Commonwealth College Honors Program.
