Cynthia Montes provides rapid response communications support and strategic communications counsel to clients to help them translate complex policy issues into effective messages that move the needle without compromising vital details or nuance.
At Seven Letter, Cynthia develops, implements, monitors and manages a broad range of digital campaigns, with a focus on social channels. She works closely with clients to identify organizational communications risks and develop the necessary crisis communications plans to address them. Previously, Cynthia worked for Blue Engine Message & Media, which merged with JDA Frontline in 2018 to form Seven Letter.
During her time at Blue Engine, Cynthia led media outreach efforts and provided strategic communications counsel to a coalition working towards protecting the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. Her work resulted in securing print, online, radio and broadcast media placements across the country for the coalition.
Prior to Blue Engine, Cynthia worked on Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign as a part of his national Latino outreach and communications teams. In her role, a typical day would include making bilingual pitch calls to journalists, researching press clips, updating or creating media lists and bilingual press materials as well as attending campaign events to assist reporters.
Cynthia was born and raised in La Habra, CA. She’s the proud daughter of two Mexican immigrants to the United States. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton.
