Following career stops that took him to Los Angeles, Baton Rouge, and Atlanta, Kobina returned to Washington D.C. in 2013 to apply his skills to political work including video production and creative direction for political agencies, advocacy groups, and party committees.
Most recently, Kobina built and led the in-house creative team for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) that was an essential piece of the DCCC’s communications strategy leading to a history-making election cycle. The team created agency-level, cross-platform, multimedia content. Among their accomplishments were commercial spots that ultimately forced Hulu to reverse its policy banning certain political ads and the development of creative assets for a multimillion-dollar, multi-state Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaign. Additionally, the team played an integral role in advancing the committee’s social media strategy, including launching their TikTok presence.
Outside of work, Kobina fills his life with a love of family, his Alma Mater, Howard University (The Real HU), the Detroit Pistons, and Star Wars… May the Force be with you.
