As a Director in Burson-Marsteller’s Public Affairs practice, Laurie led and supported numerous campaigns ranging from a global industry defense on legislative and regulatory fronts to a regional emergency preparedness public awareness campaign funded by the Department of Homeland Security.

Previously, Laurie served in increasing roles of responsibility at Edelman in Washington, where she managed and implemented media relations and communications initiatives as diverse as a reputation enhancement program for a national youth organization, communications outreach during a Section 301 trade dispute and a defense manufacturer’s successful bid to continue as the sole manufacturer and supporter of a family of tactical vehicles for the U.S. Army. At ICF Consulting, Laurie provided social marketing and communications consulting for government and energy clients.
