Following the release of President Obama’s Fiscal Year 2016 budget request, Blue Engine’s Erik Smith talked to the Washington Examiner about the budget’s appeal within the Democratic Party. Erik said: “There is something in this budget for everyone in the Democratic coalition — both progressives and moderates — from the new fees on Wall Street firms, the estate tax hike and ignoring the sequester caps for the progressives to reassuring moderates that the deficit and debt would still come down as a percentage of GDP, defense gets an increase and infrastructure is still a priority. The downside is that there is so much in here, it gives opponents a lot to complain about.”
