Bob Costa named host of PBS Washington Week

Washington Post political reporter Bob Costa has been named host of PBS political talk show Washington Week.  After being a frequent guest on the show since 2014 and serving as the show’s guest moderator for the past two months, Costa has been formally announced as the show’s host. He will succeed the late Gwen Ifill.

In this new role, Costa will oversee the weekly roundtable discussion and will help expand Washington Week’s digital presence by filing new social media reports. He’ll continue to cover Congress and the Trump administration at the Post.

Costa, in an interview on the move, said, “I just really want to bring that reporting mentality on Friday and have a conversation with the best reporters in town. At a time when everyone talks about fake news, this show is about real news. And it has a real legacy.”

He also wrote a letter and shared a video to introduce himself to the Washington Week viewers.
