CNN Names Veteran Reporter Dana Bash Chief Political Correspondent

The news organization has promoted its chief congressional correspondent Dana Bash to the coveted role of chief political correspondent. Bash takes the role following Candy Crowley’s departure from CNN and ahead of a busy political season. In a glowing memo – describing Bash as tireless, hardworking and a beloved colleague – CNN elaborates on Bash’s new responsibilities as the “network’s lead correspondent covering the Republican field of 2016 presidential hopefuls, our lead correspondent covering Capitol Hill, and as a prominent player in CNN’s election night coverage.” The memo goes on to name Bash as a key contributor for the upcoming Republican presidential debate in September.
