Karen Tumulty named Washington Post Opinion Columnist

Washington Post political correspondent Karen Tumulty has been named a columnist for the Opinions section. Tumulty joined the Post in 2010 after spending more than 15 years covering the White House and Congress for TIME magazine.

The Post’s Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt announced the new role saying, “I’m thrilled that Karen, one of the most revered and astute political reporters, will be bringing her perspective to the Opinions section…Karen will write a column that gives readers a greater understanding of the landscape of politics in Washington and beyond.”

Over the course of her career, Tumulty has covered eight presidential campaigns, received the Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting in 2014, and is currently writing a biography of Nancy Reagan.

Her first column will run on February 5.
