kirsten.powersCNN didn’t waste any time putting their new political analyst to work. Less than 12 hours after CNN announced that longtime political analyst and former Clinton Administration official Kirsten Powers would join the network as a political analyst, the former Fox News contributor appeared on “Anderson Cooper 360” to discuss the latest on the 2016 race for the White House.

Powers joins CNN after over a decade at Fox where she provided her insights and commentary on daytime and primetime programming. In addition, she covered presidential debates, election nights and more special coverage as part of Fox’s election team. Powers also has a regular column at USA Today.

Prior to becoming a political analyst, Powers was the Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Public Affairs during the Clinton Administration and worked in various communications roles, including as Vice President for International Communications at American Online, Inc., and as a communications consultant for political campaigns and nonprofits.
