Seven Letter Partner Brendan Buck Appointed Resident Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics

WASHINGTON, DC – (January 19, 2022) – Today, the Institute of Politics (IOP) at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government named Seven Letter Partner Brendan Buck among its Resident Fellows for the Spring 2022 semester. Buck, who joined Seven Letter in 2019, previously served as a top aide and spokesman for two Speakers of the U.S. House, will lead a study group for Harvard students built on his expertise in the modern U.S. House of Representatives. While in Cambridge for the spring semester, Buck will continue to serve clients stationed out of our Boston office.

As the IOP describes the program, which dates back 1966 and includes six political practitioners each semester, “Resident Fellows immerse themselves in the Harvard community by residing on campus, mentoring a cohort of undergraduate students, holding weekly office hours, and leading an eight-week, not-for-credit study group based on their experience and expertise.”

“We’re incredibly proud that Brendan has earned this opportunity,” said Erik Smith, Seven Letter Founding Partner and CEO. “Just as he did on Capitol Hill, Brendan has distinguished himself as a thinker and trusted counselor to our clients, and I know the students at Harvard will benefit from his perspective and insights.”

“Now more than ever we need good, smart, decent young people to enter public service,” said Buck. “I hope I can inspire students to see that working in Congress can still be a noble pursuit.”
