LinkedIn isn’t just a networking platform anymore; it’s becoming a primary source for AI-generated answers.

In a study from November 15, 2025, to February 15, 2026, Profound examined billions of citations provided by nine different AI chatbot models. What they found: In that time period, LinkedIn rose from the 11th-most cited domain to the 5th overall, a 2x increase in citation frequency. It’s also now the top most‑cited source for professional queries across all AI search platforms.

The surge is largely due to an increase in citations of LinkedIn posts (shorter, on a feed) (up 5 points) and long-form articles (up nearly 3 points).Because AI chatbots are increasingly considering LinkedIn a trusted source, especially when it comes to answering questions in the professional sphere, every post you publish has the potential to expand your reach, build your credibility, and establish real authority and thought leadership in your space.

As more people turn to AI chatbots for quick answers, where and how you post online matters – and now, anyone, or any company, posting on LinkedIn is a potential source. If you want to amp up your – or your organization’s – thought leadership and grow influence via LinkedIn, Seven Letter Insight can help.
